The Actual Guide For SpaceHey

Hey! You just made an account on SpaceHey and have no idea how to start? Or you logged in after two years and forgot how it worked? Or maybe you're an active user on here, but want to do more on here? Welcome to the guide how to actually use SpaceHey. Share this guide with any new users, whether you know them personally or totally not, so that people don't get lost here.

I'm the2000snerd, but you can also call me Penny, and welcome to another guide. I've noticed that a lot of users go inactive on here because of these problems;

• website problems 

• not knowing what to do

• getting bored and abandoning your account (so not cool)

While we can't fix the first problem, we CAN fix the second and third problem. This website doesn't have to be dead.

- Blogs - 

These are one of the most used functions on SpaceHey. But a lot of people tend to not know what blogging actually is.

Blogging is writing about something in long-form text. Notice how I say long-form? A lot of users post short-form blogs on SpaceHey, but that beats the whole purpose of it. If you want to write 'short blogs', do that in bulletins (unless your blog is a question). That's where they're for.

If you don't know what to post in blogs, here are a couple of suggestions

• Outfit of the day

• How your day went 

• What's in my bag

• Suggestions for a topic

• A how-to guide

• Surveys

• A week/month recap of something 

But the possibilities are endless. 💗

- Bulletins - 

Bulletins are short blogs you and your friends can see for a short period of time. Think of them as the 2000s version of a Twitter post, except that they are more personal.

These are the top five things they get used for:

• Quick thoughts

• Questions for your friends

• Links to your new blog post / socials

• Random updates 

• Reminders

- Groups -

Groups are where you find your people on SpaceHey. There's a group for literally everything — 2000s kids, horror writers, gyaru fashion, emo music, you name it.

- Forum -

Think of it like Reddit but less problematic. Need a quick answer? Go on there. Want to start a thread? Go on there. It is a little inactive, but it could work as a charm.

- IM's - 

Instant messages. The most feared, but also one of the most fun things on SpaceHey. With IM'ing, you can stay in touch with your closest SpaceHey friends.

Here's how to make the most of IM's on SpaceHey:

• Don't be shy. If someone leaves a comment on your blog that makes you smile? IM them. If you see someone in a group who seems cool? IM them. That's how friendships started in the 2000s — and it still works.

• Use them like actual conversations. Not everyone checks SpaceHey 24/7, and that's okay. You send a message, they reply when they're on, and it feels like a real exchange instead of the chaos of group chats. Don't just ask how they are doing, ask for their hobbies, plans and dreams.

• Keep it going. Found a song you think they'd like? IM them the YouTube link. Saw a movie they mentioned? IM them your thoughts. The little things keep connections alive.

- Comments -

Leaving comments on people's profiles and blogs is the SpaceHey version of being a good neighbor. It's how you show up. It's how people remember you.

Some easy comment ideas:

• "Love this blog!!" = simple but effective 🥹

• "Omg your profile song is chef's kiss" = instant connection!

• "This made me laugh so hard" = this is always appreciated

• "I totally get what you mean" — validation is a love language, you all

The golden rule of SpaceHey: comment like you want to be commented on. Be the energy you want to see.
