(TW : Mentions of suicide, body shaming, etc)
Nowadays Social Media is EVERYWHERE and it's hard to escape or take breaks from, since it's really addicting & You can interact with your friends more easily, I mean who doesn't love talking to their friends while being far away? But if we go back let's say ~10+ years everything was so much different, we used to go to our friends doors and ask them to hang out from morning to 7pm before our parents killed us for coming home late.
Social Media is a very dystopian, scary, and horrifying place in reality, especially to young people.
Lately I've seen kids on tiktok / instagram or any app like that receive a lot of hate because of how they look, which then can make them insecure about their body. For example if they get fatshamed, they're going to google on how to lose weight and put their lives in danger for not eating, since they wanna fit beauty standards, just to not get bullied. This also happens to teenagers, but in the teenage years, when the brain is developing and social pressure becomes a thing, the comments tend to stick in their memory and can lead to depression and if it's left untreated it can lead to much worse things (for example suicide).
This is why apps have age restrictions, just to keep people safe, and we keep ignoring them, since if you don't have tiktok (or any other app ppl use nowadays) you're "Cringe" or "Embarrassing" which pressures you into downloading them, and you get addicted.
Remember to take care of people around you and check up on them frequently and ask them to hang out with you, if they dont leave their home or they're alone in general, even a small interaction can have a huge impact on their life.
If you or someone you know needs help tell a trusted adult and try to get help ASAP <3
Have a nice day / night whatever time it is for you currently ദ്ദി(˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧
