black tea ep.2: gole sangam by mogh

welcom to the second ep of "black tea". a series of reviewing songs that i think need to be heard. so grab your black tea and listen to the song while reading this ;)

today, we'll talk about the song gole sangm by mogh. not hayede or sattar. this song is a nostagic song that all iranians knew the kyrics. but mogh, a black metal nsbm and decided to sing it with scream, harsh vocal, loud giutars and drumms. that's something that lot'a of rappers do. to sing an old song but this time in a rap way. it might look like they're insulting the old values by dooing that. but it's not lie that to me. they didn't insult it. in fact, that song is a reminder. what reminder? you may ask, and i should say it's a reminde of where we came from. it's a reminder of the culture. a reminder of the pain that this song was trying to deliver to our parents and family in decades. the pain of not being next to your lover. and what type of music can show the real pain better than metal to those who can undrestand it more than just "scream". mogh, as one of th bands that never care about what others think, they made an absulote chaos of feeling by singing that song. it's like a thanks to the royal generation before islamic revolution. it's like a appreciation not for the song but mostly to the pain hayede gave us with her calm, burning sound. mogh, not just turned that song to a metal version, but also made the the pain to be for something more than just a pain of love. now, it'smore like a pain of losing the royal values over religion. and in there's only one thing that can start a fight with religion. and it's nothing else than something out of norme. tell me. what's more unexpectedly out of norme than nsbm music?

1.intro:

the intro starts with declamation. the explanation of what's waiting for us in the song. a calm and peacefulle sound from a ladt is singing it that i think it might be ms. Charuk raven. the intro is calm, with a hint of echoing of it in the background. it's like a warrning of the chaos that will come after the intro.

2.chorus:

the song starts with a loud, harsh sound of drumms. then the keybored played by the female vocalist and the giutar played by the male vocalist (mr. Magus). the sound of the bass is much louder than the sound of vocal which might be annoying to others who don't enjoy extreme music. but for those who do, it's the specifice thing that make this musice more...mysterious. 

i played that song for lots of people who dosen't enjoy extreme music. and they all said the same thing. "it's scary". and i deeply believe that hte reason is that the vocal is lower than the instruments. the low screem in general is somthing that makes everyone to feel the fear.

(also don't forget the reason black sabbath invented metal. to make a music that scares people)

3.verse:

the verse have a higher vocal than the rest of the song. which is, the reason i like it more. the rythem, the theme, everything is still the same way. like a faided memorry that you deeply wanna forget but it's still there. this time, more painfully.

after that we have chorus which is the same as it was.

4.bridge(i guess):

this part is something, diferente from rest of the song. we don't have any vocal. the traditional instruments, the folk vocal and also a folk theme. that's what i believe is a bridge

would I recommend it? if you like the theme, for sure!

if you didn't like it: don't try persian black metal

songs i think would give you the same feeling: all persian anti-islamic songs. mostly black/folk ones
