‼️‼️Evolution of my Genshin OC!‼️‼️(English)

Haii c:

I've been wanting to show you all something I never managed to finish because of a lack of motivation, not enough time, and a bunch of other stuff. (I even ended up in the hospital like three times between 2024 and 2025 😭)

I finally have a more complete base for it, and I wanted to show you all the different versions I've made of my Genshin OC, who's currently named Kaid!! :DD

First sketch!!

This sketch was made back in 2023 on the back of a graphics tablet😭

didn't even have a name, I only had the idea that she could be from Fontaine, Snezhnaya, or maybe even Mondstadt... I wanted them to be a crazy girl who played guitar

She didn't really have much of a purpose besides being "Mr. Ragnvindr's wife", and in the end I never gave her a story or anything

Just an ugly guitar that I never even drew.

Second sketch!!
Here's Zoryana! This was the first time I really tried making a more defined concept,
I wanted her to be a Cryo woman from Fontaine with a fierce, cold personality. I was thinking she'd use either a spear or a sword...
I never kept working on her because I wasn't really happy with the design, so I ended up abandoning it. But she was pretty cute btw
(And of course, the idea of pairing my OC with Diluc was still there)

Third sketch!!
I personally hate this one😭
I decided to make him a wolf hybrid (because I really liked Razor), and he was also heavily inspired by my main Oc... basically just my main Oc if he were in Genshin..
I wanted him to be energetic, clingy, and a little chaotic, but honestly I never liked him. Looking back at him just makes me cringe :c But Here I decided it would be a male OC; it made me feel more comfortable

Still, thanks to him, I finally stopped being embarrassed about drawing myself with Diluc 💗 Thanks for that man (I even got a cute little drawing from friend)

Fourth sketch!! FINALLY "KAID"
Does this even count as a sketch? 😭 It was just a really quick idea I drew during class
At this point, I only really had the hairstyle figured out, and it's actually stayed pretty similar ever since

Fifth sketch!!
By this point, I had a much clearer idea of what I wanted to make. I had even started writing some of his lore by then (YAY)
I wanted him to be bundled up in warm clothes and come from a humble family living in the corruption of Snezhnaya, surrounded by lots of adopted siblings
I also wanted him to have a calmer, happier personality... and, of course, I wanted him to wield a big sword

Sixth sketch!!

I wanted to try something different this time—a traveler who lived in the harsh, snowy mountains, collecting bones and stuff

I ended up abandoning the idea because I had no clue how to color him, and there was also a period where I didn't draw anything at all

Even so, I liked him at first... but he looked way too much like he is from Natlan (don't even try to deny it 😭), and he didn't really give me Snezhnaya vibes

He still looked pretty cool, but he just didn't feel like me

I wanted something that represented me more

AND FINALLY!!

Yesterday, -literally yesterday- I made a sketch that I felt turned out better, with more details. It has more lore, more purpose

I don't care if it's not the most original OC in the world; I feel it's more me

I had abandoned the idea of the guitar, and now it's back. I have a more complete idea of its weapon and even its special food xD

I didn't want to use the blues, light blues, or whites that I've seen all over Snezhnaya; I wanted it to be more rebellious, to use its Cryo to make music!

And about its lore, I feel like I have a good story with Diluc :3

There are still a few details I want to polish, but I'm really proud of how it's turning out. ❤️

Reading all of this might make it seem like I went in circles just to create a single character... but I really wanted to make something that lived up to my own expectations. I wanted him to look good, feel awesome, and maybe even seem original enough to belong alongside Diluc or fit naturally into the Genshin universe.

I also don't draw very often, so that tends to discourage me sometimes.

But in the end, the most important thing is to have fun and make something that makes you happy. I've made more progress than I expected, and now I'm even more excited to keep working on him and writing his story. :3
