The Odyssey and modern movie blues

Frankly the movie was unimpressive, wooden acting, bad dialogue, boring cinematography. I don't even really need to get into the fact that Nolan took a an epic story of magic and whimsy and decided to tone down all those elements, in favor of what realism? Who cares about that.

This movie doesn't stand out period, it feels like any other modern movie. It's shot like any other modern movie (aka sterile and lifeless), it has the same dwindling pool of relevant celebrities that every modern movie has, and has the same boring color palette of every modern movie.

This director is supposedly the "peak" filmmaker of our time, and he can't even get convincing performances out of most of his cast, oh but he sure shot it all in IMAX though, great I didn't even know that going in and I didn't fucking notice either, I had to be TOLD that fact.

If this is the best of the best we're in trouble, because its just not good enough.

Yeah. I won't lie. I enjoyed going to see it there at the cinema. But it definetely isn't a movie I would rewatch, you know? I won't say it's bad. Now, saying it's good would also be lying I guess? You need to watch it with a very specific look and it's definetely not for everyone.

It was still fun and epic (and scary) but different to the greek story we know
