True Scary Story Time

When I was a little girl, I had this cute lamp on my dresser. It was a big momma bunny with a big light bulb over her head, and a little baby bunny with a little nightlight bulb. I used that nightlight every night, because I was (and still am, a little) afraid of the dark.
One night when I was about 5 years old, I woke up in the middle of the night. I don't know why. My nightlight was on as always, and I looked around my room to the end of my bed and saw a man sitting there, staring at me.
He had matted black hair, pale greenish skin, sunken eyes, and he was covered in dirt. He looked like he'd just crawled out of a grave. I pulled my blankets up under my eyes. I was terrified, my young brain scrambling, trying to make sense of what I was seeing. The only man who I knew might be in my house in the middle of the night was my dad. I wasn't sure why he had this scary costume on, but I figured it might be him, because who else could it be?
Timidly, little 5-year-old me asked, "Dad...?"
The man sad nothing, but continued to stare directly at me as he stood and took a few steps across the room. The next part sounds absolutely crazy, but this is what I saw: He raised his hands so his palms were flat against either side of his face and his body disappeared, leaving only a floating skull where his head had been. I was frozen in fear. I had no idea what was going on. The floating skull began to move toward me, and I squeezed my eyes shut, but I knew it hadn't gone away, the same way you can feel someone near you without looking.
I opened my eyes for a quick second and saw that the skull was circling around my head as I lay there, petrified. It was literally going down into my pillow and reappearing on the other side of my head, going past my face, over and over. I squeezed my eyes shut again, and suddenly felt a strange tingling sensation all over my left ear. In my mind, the skull "bit" my ear, but I wasn't looking, so I don't know.
That was it for me, I bolted out of bed and down the hallway into my parents' bedroom, where I woke my mother in a panic. She let me sleep with them that night
I told this story to them the next day, and I've told it countless times since. I've never seen that man again, but I was terrified to look at the end of my bed for years after that. I'm not sure what he/it was, but I know it wasn't a nightmare. I was adamant about that even back then. I was *awake* during the entire event, and I ran directly into my parents' room. There was no wake-up-then-run. It was just run.

I...wow. Holy shit. That is terrifying! And something like that hasn't happened to you since?

Nope, not even close. I've had spooky moments but no solid evidence other than this one incident. I don't count the two times I've "seen orbs" because I don't even know if that's what was happening, and I've "felt like I'm not alone" but again, that's not really a thing I put much stock into. This one thing is the only thing that's ever happened to me. Crazy right? I don't have any idea how to explain it.

Wowwwww. Have I ever told you about the YouTube channel called Slapped Ham?

LMFAO uhhh... no... Do I want to know?

It’s a series of videos about the creepy, the paranormal, the weird, and downright spooky. The host is a charming Australian bloke named Kallen.

That sounds right up my alley! I've been stuck on nexpo, disrupt, night mind, barely sociable, slightly sociable, and jcs criminal psychology lately I'll give Slapped Ham a try! What an odd name for a paranormal channel, lol

Lol in the beginning they focused on goofy trivia facts and funny photos more so than the spooky and bizarre.

Yay! A brand new episode dropped today, but I haven't had a chance to watch it yet. I'm about to, though!
