My first blog, yay!

So, I downloaded spacehey in like ~august 2025 and I've been using it periodically since then (I really didn't want this app just to be abandoned in the depths of my phone lol), but recently my IG account got deleted D:

What happened: one day, IG (social media I'm most active on) randomly asked me to solve a captcha. I'm all against generative Al and I know they use it to train their models, so I clearly didn't want to do it. Problem is I have a project that relies heavily on Instagram, it's basically built around it and I'm pretty sure Als can already solve them, so I eventually gave in after a day or so. BUT it obviously couldn't just end there. THEY COULDN'T JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE I WASN'T AN AI CAUSE WHY WOULD META, THE COMPANY BUILDING AN AI DATA CENTER THE SIZE OF MANHATTAN, NOT WANT ANOTHER AI IN THEIR APP. After I solved the captcha, it then asked me for my phone number which I clearly wasn't gonna do because

1-I live in Mexico, and the president (Jewish btw) has been pushing for digital and biometrical IDs AND wants you to link them to your phone number for some time now. Obviously almost the whole country is against it, so in order to force us to do so, the government said they would "disable" any phone with an unlinked number in June 31, which of course didn't happen cause the people (me included) still don't care and won't register our numbers.

And 2- I know meta wants my number to do basically the same thing as my president; creating a (or extending the existing) profile of myself and use it for God knows what.

A friend sent me a message after like a week, asking me what had happened with my account and then sent me a screenshot of it being deleted. He says he hasn't been asked to add his phone number and hasn't had any problem with the app whatsoever.

Idk if it had anything to do, but when meta was changing all their policies and the only way to opt out was sending them an email ASKING not be part of their crappy agendas, mine got rejected and my formerly mentioned friend's got accepted.

...this is some 1984 bullshit.

Anyways. Since I don't really have any other thing to do with my phone other than calls and messaging (yk, the reason you buy a phone in the first place) or in my free time in general, I'd like to dedicate spacehey as much of my time as I did Instagram. It's essentially everything I support; non- profit, independent, private, FUN, reminiscent of an arguably better era of the internet, somewhere actually worth spending time in..

I wanted to give a little bit of context as to what's happening in my country and what some companies are doing, in order to understand why I took the decision to not comply with whatever IG was asking of me, but I may have just turned it into a rant haha... This is a blog so I guess it kinda is the point, but not entirely. I'll write a bit about what's going on with my life, to try and compensate a little, yk

I recently started working at a museum, which I really enjoy. There's a hell of a lotta museums in my city, but this one's definitely the biggest and probably the only reason to come visit haha

I've also started a garden. My goal is to eventually produce everything (plants) I consume.

I'm making stickers to support artists!

I'm trying to make a watch dogs 2 wrench mask. I'm mostly done planning how it'll work, now I just need to get the materials. I'm not even that much of a watch dogs 2 fan (I like the first way better), but I think it's a cool concept.

That's pretty much it. I don't want to elaborate that much cuz I'm planning on making at least one blog for each one of these, I've even been taking pictures on my DS for it!
