2015 nostalgia

I found some old pictures of myself from 2015 that really capture how it felt to be softcore emo back then LOL

This was my FAVORITE picture of myself back then. The over exposure, the blue tinted editing to bring out my eyes, all my acne edited out of it zit by zit.

I got my septum pierced a year later so this was my pre piercings. It's kinda weird to see now.

I always had a knot in one of my earbuds so I could tell just by grabbing them which one went in which ear. Also peep the crusty art in the bg that I was really proud of back then. I still have that Facing the Oracle thing up on my wall even tho I don't listen to them much anymore. I think this is also back when I had that painting from the White Pony album up, which I also still have :3

Good lord, the webcam pic? The lobster hand to click the camera button?? The FACE???? THE CAT EARS DRAWN ON?????

Regardless of this very typical 2015 expression I still think this pic is cute :)

Do I really even have to say it

In case you can't tell I LOVED that artsy yellowish filter. My oldest brother was a photographer in the early 2000s and he used to always use it. Since I thought he was one of the coolest people ever I took a lot of inspo from him, even though I never told him that since he was also still the guy who babysat me while I hung out with his daughter. Lil bit of my lore, he pathed the way for being an alt kid in this family. My mom dealt with him first (like him dying his hair blue right before picture day) so I think it helped her be softer on me when I ended up dressing alt too many years later.

THE OVER EXPOSURE AGAINNNN This time in muted cool tones which I also loved, tho I gravitated to the warmer tones because I didn't like being pale. I thought these filters brought out my eyes more tho. A lot of us loved not being able to see any of our facial features besides our eyes, you just had to be there.

And for comparison, here's me over ten years later, at the time where everyone is expected to have grown out of their emo phases.
