MOVIE RECOMMANDATION: P.S. I love you

Movie review

P.S. I love you

P.S. I Love You (film) - Wikipedia

If you're looking for another movie that's gonna stick to you and make you cry like The Notebook did, then keep reading.

WARNING: POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD!

I've found out about this movie 2 years ago when I've started writing Open when... letters for my at the time lover. You'll see what the movie has to do with them later on. I tried to watch it then, but my teenage brain couldn't understand the genius of it so I've dropped it after the first 15 minutes.
A couple of months go, though, while I was thrifting some DVDs to watch, I came across this movie again. It somehow had a special place in my heart so I bought the DVD for like 2$.

SUMMARY:

"P.S. I Love You" follows the story of Holly, a young woman grieving the loss of her husband, Gerry, to a terminal illness. Before he passed away, however, Gerry prepared a series of letters designed to be delivered to her at key moments over her first year of widowhood. Each message, always ending with "P.S. I Love You," gently guides Holly through her grief, challenges her to rebuild her life, and helps her rediscover happiness, proving that a love so deep can transcend death.

MY OPINION:

This is gold and yes, I'm going as far as to comparing it to The Notebook. It may not be as heartbreaking and emotional, but it's soo close to it. It's a wonderful 00s romantic movie, being 2 hours long.
You're gonna watch it and be like "I want someone like him! /  I wish I had a boyfriend that loved me like he loves Holly!"
After watching this movie, you're gonna want to start writing such Open when... letters yourself. You can write them to your lover or to yourself, it doesn't matter as long as the message is delivered.
The movie also teaches you to not leave your partner after small disagreements as there's gonna be a time when you're really gonan lose that someone and actually feel what it's like to live without him. Yes, there's plenty of fish in the sea, but are they really gonna be the right ones?

Embrace and value what you have now cause if the brain struggles with a "bad" person in your life, it is gonna struggle more without them, cuz the brain doesn't like unfinished business nor the absence of someone.

Also, prepare for some cringe scenes that's gonna be funny for the first 10 seconds in the scene and then you just want them to end. Also, sorry in advance for Gerald's irish accent, it's sooo bad.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

If you're a hopeless romantic, this is definetely a must watch. Set yourself a cozy space, turn on that lamp and grab some snacks. This movie is gonna leave you thinking and sobbing for the rest of the night.
