🎵 YOU HAD TO HAVE TO HAVE BEEN THERE (RAMBLING ABOUT A POPPY SONG)

I love the song Don’t Go Outside but can’t really recommend it as much to people as I think it’s a song that can only be appreciated at its fullest if you were there on its release and followed Poppy since the beginning. It’s such a perfect final celebration of Poppy’s album I Disagree but also a closing of this era and this genre of her and her music with it using lyrics from Concrete, I Disagree and Fill the Crown with the song ending with the little vocal melody from Anything Like Me. I think the lyrics brought back for this song are also some of the most important for the theme and point of the album about making a life not worth living (Concrete) worth living even if that means fighting for it and burning bridges (I Disagree) so you can become your true self and be happier in the end (Fill the Crown).
