THIS post is only for fellow who want to LEARN math, since every person is different - and that's totally okay.
Ever felt like running away from math classes? And that constant urge to cry in every lesson? It's okay, I have been there too. Well... I still feel the overwhelming urge sometimes BUT I have come over it a long way. From my past years in middle school constantly hating on maths, surprisingly I have taken maths major in high school with few additional subjects. And this ONE decision was made due to my experience with maths because of this one tutor who was old enough to be my grandpa, really chill, and used to teach me and few other kids extra math classes for his passive income.
Now I want to share what mindset is needed to come over the math phobia, few tips and try to get better, but remember everyone has different potential so don't force yourself in anything okay?
FIRST "I don't want to learn how to solve this quickly. I need to understand how a problem can be solved" If you just solve bunch of questions of same formulae, ofc it works for similar questions, and your brain can train on patterns, but it doesn't work all the time because you need to grasp the fundamentals. So don't hurry, have patience. Take your time to actually get it.
SECOND don't compare yourself with someone who can solve maths quicker. I mean yeah, you need to learn to be fast for exam purposes but firstly you need to understand and solve it so your brain can ACTUALLY process it. Speed comes later, understanding comes first.
THIRD DONT use ai to give you questions or help u with it. You can but firstly, check your solutions your own, read the textbook examples and try to figure out or take help of any tutor. In some cases you can use ai to give you solutions but remember not to make it a habit cuz it has affected me badly. I used chatgpt a lot when it firstly came. Now I avoid it. It's super tempting but trust me, your brain stops working if you rely on it too much.
FOURTH CLEAN NOTES yes clean notes, and a separate notebook for practicing and PLEASE keep it neat too. I mean sure messy is fine if you're learning it for your own but... if you have to give an exam your hands also need to be trained how to write properly cuz I'm sure teachers also give step marks based on how well you have presented the answers. Organization helps more than you think.
FIFTH take a breath, and believe in yourself. If you're a slow learner like me it's completely fine - what matters is.. are you curious to learn it? Do you find it easier than other subjects if you focus enough? Are you committed enough not to sulk down when any math tests comes up but more excited to see how good you can do?
SIXTH good sleep and eat well okay ?? health comes first, staying up late can upset your digestion so schedule your things properly.
SEVENTH filter out distractions, i know its hard but you have to try it..try making alternative account filled only with study content or whatever boring stuff that will urge you to shut down your phone at some point and look for something better to do.

so don't give up !!! remember maths is ALL ABOUT PRACTICE i don't care how many times you've heard it, you have to actually try it. practice! and find a good tutor too ig
