how can i get my black box dyed hair to pink!!??

Hey guys!! Long shot, maybe, but I really wanna dye my hair pink or purple. My hair has been box-dyed many times - I've dyed it red 2-3 times several years ago (the red still shows up in my hair as well, even though I've done dye remover). I've also box-dyed it black twice. I haven't dyed it in a while, so my hair has had a break. I have quite a lot of split ends, so I'm assuming my hair is already pretty damaged. Does anyone have any advice for me so I can get my hair to pink or purple??? I cannot afford a salon or anything, which makes things difficult.
