The Backrooms

During this movie I was insanely hooked. I am a huge lover of film, specifically animation mainly so going into a real life movie is not something I do very often despite visiting the cinema almost every month. However I love limited space and am a fan of the original web series and the other levels such as kitty house or level 94 as my favs. So I went in with my gf expecting a fun and slightly scary experience like I had in the final movies but I had no idea that this movie would make me want to question everything I ever knew about horror films. This movie made me hold my breath in fear, made me tear up, almost as if I was in the backrooms itself. Rarely I find a movie that made me feel as strange and scared as this one did, and yet I was so utterly fascinated and when the movie ended I sat in silence for a few minutes processing what I just saw. However one of the most interesting things about this movie aside from the phantasmic visuals, writing, set design and idea was the fact that you have to be patient. This movie trusts its viewers to have enough intelligence and patience to sit through all the long quiet scenes aswell and does not rush but slowly builds up an insane amount of tension to which the soundtrack made a perfect sound. I cannot fully describe into words how much I loved this movie but I can say for sure that I will never forget this theather experience of seeing in the first time.
