21st century romance

I've submitted to the cruel reality of our mind-numbing world, where I know our love is ephemeral. A fleeting romance where for the rest of my life, I'll think of you and my heart will continue to ache for you. Conditioning myself to the hurt when you soothe my rotting heart with your vow of love and forever, then dissipate. embracing the emptiness of the lack of any real love and connection our world holds, we all continue to fall in line of the same monotonous habits while all wishing for someone to rebuild the code of society. As I close my eyes, a flicker of hope runs through my frequency before being brutally executed by the pang of heartbreak.
