death penalty for pedos (debat)

Hi today id like to discuss a topic that is somehow controvertial : death penalty (and we will be more specific and add for pedohiles) I got that idea from a twitter post that I saw saying 'death penalty for pedos" so I thought that would be a good topic to discuss.

I will first talk about death penalty in general and then continue with death penalty for pedos.

First of all what is deth penalty ? The death penalty is the state-sanctioned punishment of executing an individual for a specific crime. (Cornell Law School)

Death penalty is a huge debat that debated if it should be put in every country or not, depending on the crime that happended such as murder, terrorism, mass murdering, sexual assault or abuse. It is discussed all around the world and especially in europe (only one country still has death penalty as a punishment in europe and 55 in the world) 

Death penalty sounds like a good solution, you took a life so you must pay with yours, it's "justice" and what the criminal deserves,

But actually no. 

There's many problems with death penalty starting from the accuracy, if by anything the suspect isnt the real criminal then you just killed an innocent soul, it also increase social problems such as racism or xenophobia. It is proven that poverty increase crime, it is also known that immigrants are the people who struggle the most due to not being able to find jobs (because of their race), or get payed less. knowing all of this it creates a big problem : if you let a group of people decide for the life of someone, you agree for inegalities, corruption, frauds and way more. You agree that people should decide if someone else deserves to live or not, not knowing anything about their moral or motivations, it will create even more inequalities and death penalty will be used as an excuse to kill minorities (immigrants, LGBTQ+ community, people from certain religion or certain group of people) and hide it behing "justice" when its pure racism or discrimination against specific groups of people. 

Another problem with death penalty is that it doesnt really work, some people would tell you that death penalty dissuade people from commiting crimes but it doesn't. 

In 2004 in the USA, the average murder rate for states that used the death penalty was 5.71 per 100,000 of the population as against 4.02 per 100,000 in states that did not use it. In 2003 in Canada, 27 years after the country abolished the death penalty the murder rate had fallen by 44 per cent since 1975 

State and regional murder statistics show no correlation between use of the death penalty and reduced crime, puttind death penalty as a pinishment does not lower crime rates, there's no correlation between the 2 of them.

Death penalty is also against some countries' rules :

France: The death penalty was abolished in 1981, and its prohibition has been included in the Constitution since 2007

Germany: The Constitution explicitly bans the death penalty, mainly because of the lessons learned from the country's history

Canada: The death penalty for ordinary crimes was abolished in 1976

Belgium: The death penalty was completely abolished in 1996

The Netherlands: The death penalty was abolished for ordinary crimes in the 19th century and later abolished completely

Portugal: One of the first countries in the world to abolish the death penalty for civilian crimes

Norway and Sweden: Both countries have completely abolished the death penalty and strongly support human rights

In these countries, the death penalty is often considered incompatible with moral values such as respect for human dignity, the right to life, the risk of irreversible judicial errors, and the belief that justice should punish criminals without taking their lives.

Some others disagree due to religious beliefs like Ireland, Portugal or Vatican City.

Now that we know that we could think that if death penalty is choosen only for pedos that were proven to be guilty, and not choosen by a group of people but by the victim itself then it should be alright ? It's fair and makes sense for someone who did bad to pay it back.

Well again no.

The problems in this situation are simple : you're going to ruin the kids' life and push them to not talk. 90% of the victims are being abused by someone close to them (family, friends, teachers, relatives etc...) that means it's someone these kids know, that they have in their heart and care for, most of the times kids dont understand the danger they're in, with that you're asking a kid to make an horrible choice, you ask them if they want to kill someone dear for them. If they talk, if they say what's wrong they're taking the choice of killing a person they love, kids are not strong and mature enough to make these kind of choices, and even if they were they could be strongly pressured by family to not talk or to accuse an innocent for the selfishness or the relatives. 

Another problem is that if pedos know that they will get the death penalty for abusing a kid then they will simply kill the child once they're done with their act to make sure the victim won't talk, it's putting kids in danger to do so. And obviously like we said before death penalty won't scare them since it doesnt dissuade people from commiting crimes. 

id add one last point which is pedophilia is a disorder that can be helped and cured, pedos need help and support too, even if what they're doing id disgusting. so instead of killing them the government could help them and make them better citizen who wont be a treath for society
