stranger things has been bad since s3

i know the show has been over for months now but i always see this image and it slightly annoys me because seasons 3 and 4 are not that much better than the last one

s1 and 2 were clear and linked very well together because the plotline had an intimate feeling, but in s3 had a completely new focus and feels so out of place. why is the ussr here? why did they build a huge mall for a such a small town and why did no one question that? why are we fighting russians????

everything also felt like a joke this season. i never really liked the 'never ending story' scene because it just really marked the downfall of the show. in s1 the demogorgon was scary, and in s2 the shadow mindflayer was terrifying. why is no one scared of this big fleshy spider chasing them now?? why does this flesh monster exist in the first place? i knew this show was turning into marvel slop the second i saw that ugly thing stomping around and being beaten with fireworks

you can also tell how they abandoned their message that the show was for outcasts in s3, and started catering to a general audience. it really bothered me when they stopped focusing on the byers, a poor and unconventional family, and kept going on about capitalism>communism. i understand the context of the time and everything and the fourth of july stuff, but it was just so random and not needed. why is erica so patriotic? why was this season so obsessed with bashing communism?

s4 was a bit better, but still not good. the russia plot made me roll my eyes everytime it came on, why couldnt hopper just stay dead? its not like he does anything useful in the later seasons. this is also the season where the upside down stops becoming scary. i just really hated when the group just barged in with some guns and decided they could kill vecna. are they not the least bit scared? or are they just stupid? they are entering this alien dimension they still know next to nothing about and are completely fine. did the duffers forget these are 18-19 year olds and not army officers?

i dont hate vecna/henry that much, but they really should have kept the shadow mindflayer the only villian. i just dont understand why vecna exists. didnt hopper say in s1 that 'nothing has ever really happend in this town'? did he forget about the family that got their bones snapped in the 50s? i also think vecna is pretty weak. i like the message of the running up that hill scene but i cant take it that seriously now. isnt this in vecna's mindscape or something? he can do anything in here, why isnt he just dragging max back again? why is he letting her run away? why is he just throwing rocks at her?

i have a lot more to say about these two seasons, i didnt even talk about the main characters. but this is just a summary
