i sewed a domo bag!!

i've had this idea for a domo messenger bag stuck in my head for maybe a year now. admittedly, i'm not much of a sewer (seamster?), but i figured since i don't have much else to do, i might as well give it a shot!

i'm honestly so happy with how it came out, and it was way easier to make than i expected ^_^ 

i used a thick canvas for the outer fabric, and this cute black plaid cotton quilting fabric for the lining. the lining has 3 pockets on the inside (one of which is sized specifically to hold a mini-can of hairspray for fringe emergencies :p) and a split pocket on the outside of the back. i just used scrap fabric, fusible interfacing, and an overreliance on the zigzag stitch for the domo face lol. 

if you want to make something similar, this is the pattern i used!! it's super accessible (especially for beginners), and it only uses a yard of each fabric type, so i highly recommend it :]. i did make a few adjustments (i removed the closure loops from the original pattern and measured the flap to extend all the way over the front of the bag, and i also ended up repurposing the shoulder strap from a different bag i never use instead of making one bc i couldn't find the right size slider at the craft store), but they didn't really impact the clarity of the pattern much.  

i'm thinking about trying to get more into sewing, so if you guys have any pattern recommendations or ideas (especially emo/alternative ones!!) i'd love to hear about them :]
