Tired of being shy? tired of being unknown at school? maybe this will help!

Sup! I'm Lowe and I spent all of my middle school years not talking to people and being a straight up "loser" because I was too scared to do anything or speak to anyone except people online and no one even really knew who I was, sick of being a "nobody" I devised a step by step plan that 3/5 times can work depending on who you are and it worked for me I have so many more friends and I plan to make more junior year! :3

Step 1 Get comfortable around people

This step may seem hard on paper if you're super paranoid but after the first few times what do you have to lose? here is how you can get comfortable.ย

If you're super anxious when talking to people shift your focus outward enjoy the scenery give compliments (not too many i'd say two are fine) and ask open-ended questions when having/starting a conversation.

Keep in mind you can use your surroundings as an ice breakerย

If you're too scared to try these on your classmates try these on neighbors, store clerks, baristas y'know people who won't really remember these convo's. (which I doubt your classmates will remember too but if they do what's the harm as long as you're nice what could go wrong?

you can be like those one guy's in movies that say "nice weather we're having."ย

What really worked for me was talking to other shy people because they were easy to talk to

ย and usually kind and it felt nice to get out of my comfort zone and get them out of theirs, (especially since they understood how I felt and my goal to become more chatty) seeing them become more extroverted as the months past was nice and i'm glad we are still friends to this day.ย  ย

Step 2 join clubs/sports

the great thing about clubs is the people are like a mixed bag of Skittles there are all kinds of different people there to befriend just avoid the bully types + perverts and you should be fine<3 (also I hear colleges love when people join clubs and sports and that may help later on) there may even be more introverted people there if you're still not ready to speak to an extrovert now me personally I tend to try to befriend the more extroverted kids they're fun and usually have more friends that you can get to know. The more people who know of your existence the better! focus on their speaking too The way people talk tells a story about them.ย

step 3 dress up a little more/take care of yourself (not just for this but so you can be/seem healthy)

Now for this part i'm not saying you have to look rich or trendy but you should try to enhance your appearance more and use your natural beauty to your advantage as well. people tend to hangout or try to talk to people who look/are nice, tidy, neat, and most importantly clean and if you struggle with taking care of your self like how I used too i'd watch some videos on like hair care or the best deodorants to use. You also don't need to dress basic for people to like you my friend is goth and is very liked dress however you want as long as you have good hygiene and don't wear anything offensive i mean I come to school in heels sometimes (maybe don't actually do that) so it doesn't matter what your style is if you look cool.

Step 4 study hard and speak up more in class

hear me out, people like nerds nowadays and a lot of people like having smart friends + if you do well enough you might be able to do big things for you're school and participate in certain events that require intellect.ย

Last stepย

Be confident remember your capable of great things ignore that voice in your head that says you can't and also remember that no one truly cares about your failures but you and maybe your parents use failure to your advantage learn from past mistakes and ignore people who may try to bring you down no matter how hard it may be now go off collect friends like Pokemon cards be open and sure of yourself and have a great school year bye!
