I have a cork board in my room that I haven't used for ages. The problem is my brother uses the table, and so I don't really have access to it too often. Now that we both work a different schedule, I use the table more often and was thinking about reviving the board.
I feel like absolutely nothing of the usual board ideas works for me:
- my projects/to do stuff is on my cabinet door where I can actually see it from my bed (they are there for ADHD out of sight out of mind purposes and work well so I won't move it on the board that is out of my direct sight most of the time)
- I don't own a printer, only a tiny pocket one that prints on self adhesive zinc paper. The paper costs a fortune and i tend to stick things I print into my journal rather than displaying them openly. I'm also too cheap to pay a printing service if I can avoid doing so.
- I'm a person who likes meaning and purpose, so popping random pretty stuff on it doesn't work for me (what's most of pinterests suggestions before I get disgusted by the ai slop and close the app)
- I am not even close to a vision board person and don't have any sort of big desires like places I'd like to see, so definitely no vision board.
- my ADHD will absolutely refuse to do seasonal aesthetics on it. Best I can do is a garland on the wall (that is season specific, not holiday because kicking myself to change one (1) garland after 3 months is about the accurate reflection of my executive disfunction.) Whatever is put on the board should be considered as indefinitely stuck there
- I had my necklaces on it for a while using it as a jewellery display but they do get dusty and make my OCD nope wearing them unless cleaned what you guessed it, doesn't go over well with my ADHD
I replaced the old rusty pins today and sorted through the necklaces. It's time to put the board back up but I am staring at it like it just asked me the dreaded "so, tell me about yourself". I'm at my wits end with it. Anyone got any ideas/inspiration? I just need some fresh perspectives on the matter... And probably some completely unhinged ideas.

do something no one could possibly ever expect. if you look for things to do with a cork board, you'll get things to do with a cork board, and I think you've considered most of those things already. do something wild, use it as a canvas. buy (or even make) some clay, slather it all over it and shape something. it doesn't have to make sense, it just has to be SOMETHING. if you want, try to make it meaningful. just turn it into art. you don't have to stick to clay either, make it a multimedia project, explore textures with tissue paper, natural things like leaves and twigs, recycling or other rubbish that you're not going to use.
That sounds interesting, thank you for the idea
