Interstate 909 – It's A Whole 'Nother Traffic Jam

Plugging and tough talk aside, I started this fictitious radio station slogan around summer 2025 during the making of my Tonyversial mixtape track “Geaux Figure” while I was recording an introduction for the song. I was blending hip-hop, punk, R&B, and so on [figuratively inside my DNA], as well as visualizing grand prix, dirt bike, ATV, or car meets. And also, I hold that hotline dearest to my heart in case I run out of other intro ideas besides “Interstate 909, it’s a whole 'nother traffic jam,” almost literally every beat I make. I’m a noob on the mild spectrum in what I bring up “the rap game.” (No laughing allowed period.) Even more better, I named the idea after my birthday; I’ve seen people named their brands after their birthdays and such. But how I did was because I’m showing how I stand out. Showcasing the fact that I’ll NEVER conform to half the norms of the God-in-the-flesh-forsaken industry and others. Struggling hard to build a much relatable platform for people my exact age who easily fall victim to those who they think are their friends but steady frontin’ like their friends platforms are “safe,” but mostly not. Even if it means way too much memes and clichés full of touchy subjects, or having it up to here and wanna squabble one-on-one.

Kudos to Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, and Terrace Martin paying homage to 2Pac with the rendition of the Gridlock’d movie track “Life Is A Traffic Jam.” When I was 15 years old, before rap, I had Section.80 on Bluetooth, blown away over how copesthetic and prophetic both instrumentations and concepts came together, I even wanted some more of that feeling. DAMN. released, and I was blown away by that too, plus biblical complexes becoming my addiction.

Fast forward to this present, the Interstate 909 concept represents me becoming a fan of myself, being proud of myself when taking writing seriously after a few songs – It was my sole decision to write from the heart and brain using my notebooks, my binders my clipboard, my pencils/inkpens, and my phone.

Interstate 909 is an ultimate inspiration of how I discover hundreds of other artists besides myself and my favorite pioneers, the triangle/iceberg of backends and Shockwave Flashes, MySpace, AOL, early stage YouTube, FL Studio, LMMS, Reason, Studio One, Audiotool, 2D/3D video games, streaming, and e-commerce – which is where the almost boredom-breaking concept from my own NeoCities cravings since 2019, “Skiptomy.lou” comes from.

I don’t mean the slogan as in a literal road rage and traffic is picking up. The slogan means to expect the unexpected, whether it’s new music, having an amicable discussion about anything, breaking free from balls and chains that I label the world of tradition, and other possibilities that may be.
