vampire music part 5

hii! this is gonna be my second gig review its still gonna be shit but thats fine bcause no one reads these lol

- wednesday , 08 / 07 / 26 - castlefield bowl, manchester, uk -

- theatre + english teacher + wet leg -

- castlefield bowl was BUSY when we arrived, the seats were full and there was a healthy-sized crowd infront of the stage, and before we found anywhere to watch, we got drinks, i had a monster which i downed pretty immediately..

- anyway, the first act was theatre. they were, to be fair pretty forgettable, and the crowd was quite dead, most of us waiting for wet leg to come on at 9. but still, they put on a good show, and made some attempt to rally a crowd which mostly ended in just some clapping to the beat. their songs blended together and i dont think i could say that they were particularly interesting. still, better than silence..

- next on was english teacher, who were miles better than theatre. they put on a good show, with a still mostly dead crowd, but actually succeeding in getting some interaction. their songs didnt blend together, but i still couldnt tell you what song was what if i relistened to them on spotify. shame. good band though, and a good performance overall. wouldnt be bad if they were standalone, but they were overshadowed by wet leg. p.s theres supposed to be pics below if there isnt sorry and fuck u spacehey 

- finally, about five minutes late, in a huge, fuck-off cloud of grey smoke, came wet leg. after the smoke cleared, they played a fucking amazing set. despite only having two studio albums, there wasnt a single dead or shit track they played, and there was a healthy dose of strobe lights and more smoke. the audience was ALIVE, and being about two rows away from the barricade, i heard a massive amount of shitty drunken singing and screaming. still, good band.

rating time u know what these are 5vs is the best and 1 v is the worst

theatre - VVV (forgettable, average)

english teacher - VVVV (great music could be a VVVVV if the crowd wasnt so dead tbh)

wet leg - VVVVV (phenomenal, great music, great action, awesome awesome awesome)
