Should I go emo??

So I've been really into goth fashion, music, literature, etc. for like a year now but recently I've started to want to get into emo stuff. But I'm going into high-school soon and I'm kinda worried about being bullied. I know I'll probably get bullied either way though so idk. Anyways if you have any tips or recommendations for emo fashion, music, hair or wtv please lmk!!!

People will bully you for literally anything. If you wanna do something like getting into the emo subculture, go for it. People will say shit about whatever they can think of, so you're really better off just doing what makes you feel good regardless of what anyone thinks. People who actually matter will accept you as you are, emo or not. It's also important to note that alternative cultures are very 'fuck what nay-sayers think', so if you do get bullied, continuing to do/wear the stuff you like is standing up to them without even having to say anything back. Literally just being in your own element, (even exploring it if you don't know what your element is yet) is keeping your power within yourself and away from them. People being nasty to you for being different also says more about the aggressor, not you. I'd take it all with a grain of salt. Trust me, you'll be happier indulging in the things you're interested in even if people rack on you for it than not. Because then you're not playing a character. You're just being yourself. It takes more energy to put on a mask than it does to just walk around in your own skin.

TLDR; Do whatever makes you feel good. If people rack on you for it, then take that as an indictor that you have much more of an actual life than they do. All the power to you.
