An is letting the code "rot" (for those that want to debate me on the meaning of existence of code rot, read this) Half of the features don't work, Exploits have not been patched, etc. People much more intelligent than me have spoken about this, but I believe An wants to sunset Spacehey.
No one puts down their whole mod team, replaces them with a LLM bot, lets features disappear/not function without fixing them for YEARS unless they want the project dead. Along with this, other sites (Napo, FriendRewind, Bliish/Bliish.space) have shown to be much more competent in terms of moderation (feel free to debate the ethics of Napo moderation in the comment section, critiques are welcome not just bitching and whining about Spacehey alternatives.) and updates. Along with this, those other sites have shown to have much better features, a (somewhat) better community, and are much more active then Spacehey.
Speaking of the Userbase, let's talk about that, and how you all reacted to new alternatives.
I've seen a lot of people just generally talk shit about alternatives (Napo and FriendRewind in particular) Which, I do believe some commentary on both are valid. But the way the majority of you reacted to Napo in particular was insane, and half of the things floating around about FRW is false. Just a reminder that Spacehey lets Nazis, Pedos, gore, etc on the site for weeks, months, if not YEARS. In conclusion, if you want to run a social site, do not let it be like Spacehey. Be active, have an active team, don't let bad people in the community fester.
Along with this, to active Spacehey users, if you want to criticize Napo, FRW moderation but you don't criticize spacehey's, your criticism in not valid, and only people in your echo chamber will listen.

in regards to the stuff about the userbase:
1) maybe i'm bugging but i have yet to see anyone hate on FRW
2) a lot of people shat on napo so much cuz it was clogging the top blogs, not because of the site itself
3) you definitely aren't helping cuz i know first hand that you specifically try and make a competition out of spacehey and napo considering how the last time i came across you, you kept telling me "your site won't survive at this rate and blah blah blah" when all i said was to stop talking about napo on here so maybe hop off napo's dick and look at yourself before you start criticizing userbases

I've just joined the site and I can already tell there's stuff wrong with the code, and I can tell that An is probably not going to fix it given how long people have been asking him to. I remember being particularly upset over not being able to upload my profile picture. I assumed it was something wrong with my computer or something, but then I found out this has been a bug for months and An has not fixed it.
I also just went to see what FriendRewind was and it runs so much better.
I'm upset that this site is just going to rot because he doesn't want to upkeep his project, but there are better sites that actually operate properly that i'm going to check out.
Maybe one day he'll revisit this and fix all of it, but that's probably never going to happen.

Idk but for me I haven't been on here much because there was a ban in the state (´TωT`), but my state is not the only one, so I have to use a VPN to connect and it's really annoying. I think some people might not connect on spacehey for the same reason if they are in the usa.

I know how other alternatives are better but... idk, used to have and old ass acc (i delted it beucwe of a problem with layouts) so.... i could create an acc w/o invitation and use a pfp... now you gotta use a vpn or hand the browser code by yourself,

Valid. I haven't been on Spacehey in like 5 months, so I have no idea about any of these other sites. I did just look up FriendRewind, and it's crazy how good it looks compared to Spacehey. I was also not too surprised to find out that An got rid of the mod team when it was practically non-existent months ago. Things on here had been bad for a while. I just got back on here like two days ago, but I've noticed a lot of empty pfps, and I guess those are still a problem on here after so long.
I keep seeing posts about Napo's moderation; what all is going on with that? Should I even look into that site?
Man, I missed out on so much drama.
