Guyss I need yalls help! I really wanted to buy a digicam for years now and I finally have the money to buy one BUT I just don't know which one is the best to buy. So my parents do have an panasonic digicam from around 2005? I really do like that camera but my dad doesn't want to give that camera because he still want to use it. So I want to buy my own camera and I did a little research because at first I wanted one with 5 mp or less. But most of those camera's (around the 2000s till the 2006's) have allot of problems and really tiny screens and the sd cards of those are hard to find. Im just hesitating about buying a digicam from the 2000-2005 era or the 2005-2010 era. I really dont know, and I also dont know which brand is the best to buy, I did read online that sony camera's like sony cybershots have really complicated sd cards and stuff can someone help me and explain all the basics? And can yall also tell me the difference between the 2000-2005 era in digicams and the 2005-2010 era in digicams? And which camera is the best to buy??

the main difference between early 2000s cameras and late 2000s cameras is the battery life/storage capacity. the type of camera you want depends on what youre using it for! if its for everyday, just documenting things id recommend the kodak easyshare fz45. its about $140 online & its newer, but it still gives you that 2000s look (if thats what youre looking for, ofc!). you can adjust the settings to have a lower mp too
for older cameras, im not too too sure on specific models but the older kodak digi cams are SUPERsuper good with storage and battery life stuff.
with 2000s cameras, youd probably have to buy the batteries/battery chargers for it, though.
another good 2000s camera brand is the casio exilim!! most models use lithium ion batteries but its charge holds pretty well from what ive heard. (it also goes down to 5 mp)

and to answer your question, yes & no. in most cases, the camera brands' newer products (ex. the *brand*s 2005 camera VS the 2009 one) will be higher quality because theyd probably want to release something BETTER than their last product ykwim?
but it also depends on the settings you choose for the amount of megapixels on each camera!
kodak cameras definitely got better over the years, but theyre still extremely customizable with how you want the quality of the photo.
im not too sure about the casio exilim
typically, 2000-2006 digi cams get that grainy look, and 2007-2012 have somewhat professional looks to them
