My new hobby is reading books; just a surface level blog about books ive read so far

This summer I have been reading way more books than usual. It's actually a recent hobby if mine and I recently read Frankenstein! It's now one of my favorite all time books ever, easily! I loved and related to the Monster so much and I thought his depiction of loneliness and isolation was so relatable. My favorite part of the book was when the Monster was explaining how he secretly lived and helped this family, living in a cottage in the woods. I was given some hope, some hope that he would be accepted because the blind man did not judge him. But it was all taken away from me! Sighhhhh I was sad again :^( but it made me feel even more for him. I also watched Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein movie and I really enjoyed it! I thought it was accurate to the book besides a few differences and I LOVED Elizabeth in this movie.

Another book I had finished reading this summer was I Who Have Never Known Men by Jacqueline Harpman. I also really enjoyed that book. It had an interesting format of having no chapters so it really felt like a diary of our narrator. I thought the narrators perspective was so interesting for someone to have very little knowledge of humanity and how this affects the way she guides herself and those around her. The ending left me in dread though, the whole book was sad and made me feel incredibly lonely lol.

Anyways I'm now reading Hungerstone by Kat Dunn and I'm enjoying it so far! im on the last few chapters so I hope to finish it this week! Next on my list is Dracula by Bram Stroker and Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer. I'll probably write another blog about these once I finish them. Ik these are quite surface level reviews but I'm enjoying this hobby and I believe it has benefited me a lot.

byeeeee recommend me books if you'd like (^_^) I tried a fantasy book and I didn't find myself enjoying it much so thats the only genre I am picky on!
