Tell me | Poem #4

Tell me

Tell me that you hate me. Get it done and cut me off.

Tell me that I've never made you feel like it was love.

Your silence makes me spiral, I can't take it anymore.

Know my heart is yours, but it cannot be squeezed that much.

Tell me that you need me, that it's easier with me here.

And tell me if what we had was something worth believing in.

I just need an answer, that's all it would take.

So I could be with you, or I could be far, far away.

I'd tell you good morning each and every day,

Or I'd see you walking by, cry, and look the other way.

I'd tell you that I love you and that I'll keep you safe,

Or I'd just tell myself how much I miss those days.

The days you'd tell me how you're happy that we're finally hanging out,

the days you'd tell me what you're doing in that way that melts my heart.

The days you'd tell me that you like the song we're both listening to,

the days you'd tell me how you're glad I never stopped talking to you.
