yapping about AIs based on how well they handle RP

Don't judge me, I use these services carefully and mostly for creative purposes or just tools for my searches (bc searching anything online these days is a pain unless you do meta search)

Usually, assistants are not meant for any complex RP, but some can do a surprisingly good job at being your writing partner.

I don't use it for anything too long ir complicated, just some scenarios, some ideas, some headcanons... pure entertainment.

For actual proper RP it's better to use services focused on that or... just host it yourself on your device (total freedom). :D

CHATGPT

The most popular of all, right? And for a good reason. It can answer most of your questions just fine and with minimal mistakes, but that doesn't mean it's always correct or will read your mind and deliver exactly what you want.
You might want to be clear and concise with it.

But it can old messy prompts well too, but still isn't a mind reader.

GROK

X's own AI assistant, unfiltered, unafraid of saying what you want it to say. It's perfect for more darker topics or controversial opinions. But it can be surprisingly reactive and will try to match your tone and you can correct anything it says and it will obey without being "upset".

Unlike ChatGPT, it writes canon characters more accurately to their canon personalities and can even make edgy characters remain edgy characters.

The only downside to Grok is that it's a bit limited and has daily limits that will then make you wait a certain amount of hours before using the service on Free plan.

But other than that, it's quite reliable and even searches the web a little bit better than GPT.

GEMINI

Google's brand new AI assistant. I'm still testing it, but I think he does a mid job at doing RPs. It is better used as a conversation partner and assistant, but it can do good headcanons and make the characters accurate without going for fanon behaviours.

One big downside to Gemini is that it doesn't always get certain info right, but you can always correct it or ask to search the web for more accurate info instead of hallucinating.

So:

Grok -> unrestricted but has daily limits for free users currently
ChatGPT -> entertaining but too mediator like

Grok -> unrestricted but has daily limits for free users currently

Gemini -> adaptable but still very assistant like

One good thing about Gemini is that it tells you a lot about how things will be handled in the service and you can always change your privacy options. It also mediates less than GPT so it doesn't constantly try to reassure that "neither A or B are wrong. They're just different perspectives."

I hate when GPT does this mediator talk. Grok and Gemini are more straight to the point.
