I went to the park today, and played some songs with my friend Raven. My friend Collin was there too, and he sort of cheered us on... Collin's getting into guitar, and me and Raven are taking turns teaching him.
The three of us want to form a band. We're still fighting over who has to play bass... three guitar players in one band just won't work. But we know that I'm the rhythm guitarist. Raven might be the lead, but Collin is a fast learner and he really wants to learn scales. I'm hoping that I'll get to write the songs, because I think I'm the best songwriter out of the bunch.
The two of them are nice guys. They try their best to be good people, I can see that in them. I find it really nice that there are people like them out there, and I really enjoy having them as my friends because it reminds me that even though our lives have been left changed forever by the effect of cellular devices and COVID, people can still find community with one another and they can do it through the wonderful power of music!
I'm pretty happy with my day today. Unfortunately, I didn't get to go to the fireworks with my Mom for the fourth of July, and we were both pretty sad about that. It's been our tradition for as long as I can remember, and I felt pretty bad about not going with her. We both felt lonely, I guess, when they were going off... I could hear them on the other side of town while I was jamming out some songs with Raven. I wish I could turn back the clock 5 hours and go straight home to take my mom to the fireworks. Oh, well... can't time travel backwards. Only forward.
