Finally posting about my trip up north!
We went to the same place we always go to, Tawas Bay on Lake Huron ^^
I know I posted some pictures of the sunrise last year so here's some more from this year:

There was also a day where the water was so still it looked like a mirror!
It was insanely clear too, you could see straight down to the sand at the bottom of the lake.

I was suuuuuper depressed on the first day. I think the combination of the travel and a handful of things that went wrong all combined and really aggravated my already present depressive episode :<
It's okay though, My youngest brother really helped me out while I was up there and I also got a ton of alone time by the water which felt nice and healing <3
I spent a lot of that time smoking weed and reading lol
While I was up there, I read Artemis by Andy Weir. I wanted to read Project Hail Mary or The Martian first but this one was what the library had available and honestly it wasnt the worst but I don't think the author did the best job of writing from a female perspective-
The general story line and the world building was enough to keep me coming back to it though and I finished it when I got home on the last day of the trip ^^
I also watched a couple of movies out on the deck with my old laptop!
I have been on a bit of a Ryan Gosling kick lately and since I was really deep in my feelings I decided to rewatch two of my favorites that I've seen so far, Drive (2011) and Stay (2005)
Both sadder roles of his lol but I really love the way he portrays these characters and also Ewan McGregor (Obiwan Kenobi) is in Stay too which is a combo I wouldnt have thought about but greatly enjoyed

I mentioned that I smoked weed, lol, I smoked a lot with my brothers every day we were up there
my brother had me take a couple goofy pictures of him from my place on the shore while he was up on the deck

And then another time I was smoking and the lake stole the lit part of my joint TOT
lmao Lake Huron demanded a 10% tax haha
Other than these couple of things, Me and my brother's boyfriend dragged in a giant tree branch worth of drift wood, we all played the funko pop FNAF game together cuz the middle child brought it to play with us, we accidentally ended up with SIX POUNDS OF BEEF because my mom forgot i packed some and then my brother didnt know we had any ToT, I got to hang out with my godparents and their family which was a ton of fun, I dont get to see them often, and we popped into town here and there to check out our usual shops that we like to see
My favorite thing of all though is something I've wanted to do for the past couple years we've been going up there. There's a local yarn store that's in a big red building so we always call it the Yarn Barn (not it's actual name) AND WE FINALLY GOT TO GO
It was soooooo cool omgggggg
I love to crochet so having a whole store dedicated just to yarn crafts was so cool to see, we dont have any in my hometown just a michaels and a hobby lobby now that the joanns is gone (rip)
The old lady that owned the place was super sweet too.
While I was there I was able to pick up a yarn that my youngest brother wants me to turn into scrunchies for him, a couple of small patterns for things to crochet for my niece, a slightly water damaged crochet patterns magazine for $2 (originally $22!) and two skeins of brown and green tweed yarn for a project (im crocheting Rocky and Adrien from Project Hail Mary <3)
I had such a good time at that store I hope to go back some day but with more money and more time to talk to the store owner
all in all, I had a great trip
I'm sad that I was so depressed while I was at my favorite place ever but it's okay because being there helped me weather the storm. I'm certainly not on the other side of it but getting to step away and be with my family and also have that time to myself worked wonders.
I miss Lake Huron so much, I wish I could see her more often <3
My favorite Great Lake ever
Once I move I will be able to visit Lake Michigan because the place where I will be living is only and hour away from her! I hope to have a couple day trips during my time in that town.
If you made it this far, thank you so much for reading!
I missed being on SpaceHey I'm not gonna lie. Things have been hard but I know they'll get better soon enough and then I'll have more energy to be here again!
I didn't want the House music from my blog theme to loop over this post so I put Can You Face the Water by The Ruen Brothers in the background!
I was really sad one night and I was just looking out to the lake after dark when this song came on and the train rolled through town and i felt so much calmer so I wanted to share it with you all.
hope you guys have been doing well, I hope to be here more often to chat with you guys soon!

The lake is so beautifulllll, now I want to go there too lol. I hope you feel better after coming back. Just because you were sad on the trip doesn't mean it wasn't a meaningful experience. I hope your future trips are filled with happier memories.
I think its okay that i was sad there tbh
It was a really good place for me to self soothe and regulate my emotions <3
I also had plenty of happy moments, im super grateful for my youngest brother who was there for me the whole trip ^^
I wish I could bring you here one day, its one of my favorite places ever
