Ok wow I haven't checked this place out in forever
Uhhh happy late pride month first of all
also I started going to the gym so yay, and that's actually gone really really well for me . ^^ It turns out I don't hate exercise, I just have a deep passionate hatred to P.E at school. I actually can do pushups now too, which is really awesome, considering it hurt previously to do so. I also actually have some visible improvement when I flex my arms, so thats doing wonders for my self confidence. I also checked my weight, and it's a drastic improvement. Beforehand, my weight kind of fluctuated around the 210/220s, but it's staying closer to below 210 and counting now. I'm not specifically trying to lose weight, but it's nice to see after struggling with the weight for so long. I think my goal is to either healthily stay at 200 or less, or just be buffer. Either is great.
I also watched the backrooms movie in theaters, and I'm not going to spoil it just yet, but I highly recommend. I watched it with a bunch of friends, and one of them has been struggling for a while now, so it was really nice to meet up with them again.
I went to camp earlier in the month, and it was really cool. It was a new campsite since the old one has insurance issues and the camp heads couldn't really get to it before other camp groups did lol. It was fun though, I think it was my favourite year of camp since I started attending this specific one. An added bonus was that this was my first year without my really toxic ex best friend, and I think that was such a relief. It definitely added to the fun haha. I also read Jurassic Park (the novel) while I was in the cabin and that was a really interesting read.
On top of everything, I finally got my rank badge for my scouting uniform (I've been waiting for it) and it comes in a little clear pouch so I can just replace the badge whenever I rank up instead of sewing it on, since It gets tedious after a while. I also got the position of assistant patrol leader for my patrol/troop (It's a small group, so it's technically both). I planned a lock-in at a church we have meetings in, and it went very well.
While we there, the patrol leader and I planned about 6 months or so of handbook lessons, activities, month themes, etc for our troop, which was confusing at first, but easier once we got in the flow. We have some new scouts, so we made sure to add a month of wiggle room for them to lock in on their first ranks. Scouting is fun, I recommend to anybody!!
