music maybe

i love music. im listening to music right now, (last flowers by radiohead if we are getting specific) and it got me thinking about all the people who dont care for music, and how foreign of a concept that is to me. music is more than beautiful sounds, its auditory art. do they not appreciate art, or do they not care? or am i the careless one for not understanding their perspectives? lyrics and melodies that make your heart race and inspire movement or action within you are one of the most powerful things in the world - are they not? as long as there has been sound, music has existed. before language, civilization, construction, or society like we know it now. in Germany (2008~ i believe), they found flutes made out of mammoth ivory (the tusks of a mammoth) that they suspected had to have been over 40,000 years old. music is animalistic, its something in our nature. all over the world, in China and India and Greece and Egypt. ancient remnants of instruments are found across the globe, we all independently created music, without knowing it, bringing us all together. yet, you tell me you do not care for music.

and this is why, with my last dying breath, i will ask for music. i will not die alone.
