Sadness as poetry

As a feeling...

Since I remember I was really in love with the melancholical state I sometimes was in after reading some texts. Don't get me wrong I don't mean it in a "oh the sadness my kingdom" way! I just think the feeling is gorgeus as a poem, something that walks hand in hand with Nostalgia leaving us questioning everything... it's just so beautiful! Why?

Poetry, books and the whole creativity

We all have read at least one book, fanfiction, poem or even some gacha series on youtube that was written in a way that left us crying to a pillow at night, and at least once in our life we began to think about other endings, whole action... etc. ! Some of us even began to write their own stuff! But still in the end of the day we thought that the original ending was beautiful, and that's what I love as a reader, also as an author myself, I am known for making angst stories or small scenarios with my ocs and I was being asked a lot of times, why? (Sadly, people also complained hahah) The reason for it is very simple actually. Beause melancholy is a state in which we feel everything, think about everything even if we might not notice it. I love my ocs and hate to make them suffer but the development of character or the thought about how beautifully I may write their past, whole life and the end brings me so much joy and depth to my creation. I love the moments when I come home from school and it's already late, I always listen to music and it gives me a lot of ideas for small conversations, confessions, actions and the whole feelings I may put in project! Things that will make the reader put their phone down to stare at the screen and think and then relate to it, because what brings more comfort than the sadness that you can relate to? I love making moments when people remember their own experiences and empathise with the character that went through it with them, why? Because it brings the feeling of safety and comfort as nothing else ever could.

Honesty

I would love to hear every readers thought about it, do you agree that sad texts are one of the more beautiful ones or maybe you prefer the different kind? Please let me know maybe I'll even take some advice when it comes to my creation! :)

Love,

I absolutely agree. Sad endings leave us questioning the "What if?" and makes us appreciate the finer or even normal (neutral) things in life. Sometimes, they're more comforting; because they're se in reality, in which happy endings rarely exist. They're most memorable, even if the ending is frustrating or underwhelming. Yet sometimes the authors make it work, you love the ending.

Melancholic media is truly a gift, not because I enjoy to weep, but because, especially when written in some sort of neutrality instead of focusing on sadness, it's genuine.
