my engineering project! :)

I don't have a lot of irl friends who I can talk to about this or anything, but I'll share it here! I've been working basically nonstop for the last 14(ish) months to make a machine that destroys solid waste without creating carbon emissions such as toxic fumes, or ash!

here's how it works (tried to simplify it)

The waste is placed into a sealed chamber and heated up a LOT. Because there's no oxygen, the trash cannot catch fire. Instead, the intense heat forces the molecules in the trash to break apart and turn into a gas called syngas. (synthetic gas) The Syngas (mostly carbon monoxide and hydrogen) is treated with steam, which converts the carbon monoxide into harmless carbon dioxide and creates more pure hydrogen gas. The hydrogen is separated and stored in tanks, leaving behind a charcoal-like powder called biochar which can be mixed into soil to help plants grow :)

if that's, like, actually a real thing, it's cool as hell (though that's true even if it isn't). good job!

thank you! I would totally love to build it, but the manufacturing costs are WAY too much for me to afford lol
