Pros and Cons about the 2000s internet

(TW: Swearing, mentions of disturbing content etc.)

Now just to clarify, im not here to say that the modern internet is that any better, old internet still better, im just writing this for fun cause i dont know what other topics i wanna talk about.

The pros (the good stuff)

No Algorithms: Content that didnt fed you AI slop, You actively surf on websites, forums, and blogs, giving yo

Less people: people in the 2000s were less on the internet and was only available in the US (and a little in the western europe), it was a good thing since there wasnt a lot of people who were @ssholes and ragebaiting like crazy.

No popularity-chasing: people today just post stuff on social media just for clout, fame and money, The old internet didnt had anything like that, it only had forum replies and active internet boards and thats it, you were just an average user who wasnt controlled by insanity for fame.

Better web page designs: between 90s and 2000s web pages were more easy and more tolerable for me for me atleast, it had more detailed pages, better navigation etc. Better than minimalist garbage.

Thats it for the pros, now...

The cons (Bad stuff)

Slow internet: as a person who has patience i dont have problem with that, in general, it took almost 5 minutes or more for a page to load, so you had to deal with it, even with dial-up.

Hard to find communities: it was difficult to find what you were interested in, cause if you wanted to join a community you had to type the exact url, cause if you didnt, you had to wander around to find it (a lot of people talked to me about this)

Easily getting virused: if you pressed just a single one sketchy link, your computer would have been in a coma because of those malicious scripts. The firewall wasnt even that perfect, even when it was the 2000s

Uncensored and shocking content: Oh boy this stuff, yeah its no surprised that screamers, sh0ck v1de0s and corn pop-ups were a huge problem in the old internet, especially when anyone of all ages had easy access on it, with just one click on those stuff.

So umm yeah thats the end of what i talked about so uhh bye :3

just so you know, being born in 2009 doesn't mean you know about 2000's internet, since you genuinely weren't there to experience it.
