IF CANNIBALISM WAS NORMALIZED

I'm halfway through a book called "Tender is the Flesh". quick summary, a virus makes animal meat deadly to consume so the government prohibited the consumption of any animal products (milk, meat, leather..) so it is against the law to have animals around for any reason (pets included). So now how would we get the needed nutritions that usually comes from animals you ask? Easy, just eat humans!!

So now the government with it's new propaganda are advertising human meat or as they call it "special meat" as it's prohibited as well to call it human.

ย  There are breeding centres where they breed the "heads" (humans, again dehumanization). What used to be normal animal farms are now changing the business to be heads slaughter centers.

Now the point of this entry is to ask, if one day the government told us we cannot consume animals anymore and started advertising for human meat's consumption instead, would you buy it? Would you do it?

Personally, I wouldn't believe it unless I see somebody dropping dead in front of me because of this alleged virus. No matter how much they're gonna try to sell us with their "evidence" and "studies" and all the other crap.

In the books a few groups of people have gone out protesting about human rights and all that but also some people were doubting in the Credibility of what the government is selling them saying stuff like "they already have the cure to the virus" and "none of it is real" which were shut down immediately by said government. Makes a very big read flag in my opinion.

So again, what would you do in a future like that?ย

INTERESTING...
Have you heard of the newly found Alpha Gal syndrome? It's contracted by tick bites...
It's literally a disease that is currently making people allergic to red meat

This sounds like a very interesting book. Idk why but the first major problem I'd have w it that is coming to mind is consent. Idk if the book goes into how these humans were obtained to be bred, but even if the government says its optional and volunteer only... Lower class people of color would be disproportionately affected and recruited for the human farms. Similar to the "no ethical consumption under capitalism" mindset, I wouldn't be comfortable with the idea that humans are forced/influenced to give up their being. Also I wouldn't want to eat meat, I'm absolutely fine w tofu :]

Imo this book sounds like illuminati propoganda or predictive media or whatever you wanna call it. Its lile how they predicted 9/11 in various shows and media to plant the images in our head to prep us!!! Various governments r already shutting down hella farms in the netherlands and other places and having more and mor people switch over to a plant based diet. They already did that lone star tick thing earlier this year, and mark my words meat/animal products is only gonna get more and more expensive until it eventually cant be found anywhere. You are warned...

This is such a thoughtful and well written blog post. I loved reading it and the questions it poses. Unfortunately if we ever got to that point, I would be eaten first with my luck

i remember watching a video that referenced the dehumanization shown in this book and compared it to modern day bourgeoisie who treat everyday people, ESPECIALLY children, like "lesser" humans
it was when the epstein files reached peak exposure in 2025 and i must say it's really terrifying that, when you think about it, we're living in that book's reality right now (symbolically)

Idk many cultures get just fine without meat! certain plant proteins, such as chickpeas are heavily incorporated into vegatarian dishes in cultures where meat consumption is forbidden due to religion. I suppose I would just get by like that, but that books sounds rlly interesting ! ! ! the element of government corruption makes me want to read it !

i LOVE tender is the flesh; it is such a well written and thought-provoking book. One of the meanings of the book is to highlight the cruelty against animals specifically bred to be eaten. The aspects of the book in the way they kill and process the 'head' is very much like how they kill and process cattle. However, it's hard to genuinely feel anything horribly negative about the abuse of cattle until it was put into a different scenario. What if the cattle were us? The book generally highlights the overall animal cruelty and shifts the circumstances to make us more aware of how the food we consume is being handled, bred, and murdered. The book also highlights the corrupt morals of both government and the everyday people in the story, and the shift of the main character's morals as well. I could not recommend this book enough!
