I have always been very stubborn when it comes to talking about my grandparents’ backyard.

It is a beautiful patio with some trees and plants, and over time, all kinds of bugs and insects have come to be part of this wonderful ecosystem.

But I always clash when people talk about maintaining it. I’ve always felt that the patio looks its best when the plants are allowed to invade what belongs to them.

And since it “had” to be cut, I argued that it shouldn’t be done the way they usually do (almost as if they purposely want to leave the ground bare). While I was helping my father cut the grass, I started to think.

If I were one of the insects found in this patio, what would I be seeing?

Beings from another plane beyond my comprehension making their presence in my home?

Destroyers of everything I know as my environment?

Beings seeking to kill and annihilate what gives us life?

And of course, it’s absurd, because you and I know we’re just two people wanting to clean up a “messy” backyard.

But now I wonder, what would we think if “God” came to do the same?

If we cut leaves, God would destroy cities.

If we removed the leaves that grew too high, God would drag all satellites and space stations back to Earth.

If we dealt with the ant colonies, God would erase entire civilizations from existence.

And of course, as humans we would think that with these acts, God would be a being of evil, a being that does not appreciate His creation and enjoys watching it suffer.

And that’s the problem that has me thinking.

We don’t expect insects to understand us. Even though we’ve studied them and technically understand how their societies function, we could never truly contact them because we simply don’t exist on the same plane.

And as I said, my father and I are not bad people, we’re just dealing with problems from our own plane, which in this case is: the grass is too long.

And now my question is:

Isn’t it very arrogant to believe we can understand the way God thinks?

Hundreds of religions have claimed and assured that such-and-such God moves according to certain desires, thoughts, or emotions. But just as we don’t know what ants think, do you think we know what a God thinks?

And that’s why the title of this article.

Whether it’s the Christian God or the one you believe in, all are based on human feelings—hate, desire, love, etc.

All in our image and likeness.

A very human God.

Siempre he sido muy terco a la hora de hablar del patio de la casa de mis abuelos.

Es un patio hermoso con algunos arboles y plantas, haciendo que con el tiempo, toda clase de bichos e insectos salgan a formar parte de este hermoso ecosistema.

Pero siempre choco cuando hablan de darle mantenimiento, siempre he sentido que el patio se ve en su mejor momento cuando dejan que las plantas invadan lo que les es de su propiedad.

Y ya que “tenian” que cortarlo, abogue porque no fuera como suelen hacerlo (dejando casi como si buscaran aproposito dejar sin plantar el suelo), y mientras estaba ayudando a mi padre para cortar el pasto empece a pensar.

Si fuera un insecto de los que se encuentran en este patio, ¿que estaria viendo?

¿Seres de otro plano fuera de mi compresion haciendo presencia en mi hogar?

¿Destructores de todo lo que conozco como mi entorno?

¿Seres que buscan matar y aniquilar lo que nos da la vida?

Y claro, es absurdo porque tu y yo sabemos que solo somos dos personas queriendo darle una limpieza a un patio “en mal estado”.

Pero ahora me pregunto, ¿que pensariamos si “Dios” llegara a hacer lo mismo?

Si nosotros cortaramos hojas, Dios destruiria ciudades.

Si quitaramos las hojas que estan muy altas, Dios arrastraria todos los satelites y estaciones espaciales de vuelta a la tierra.

Si nos encargaramos de las colonias de las hormigas, Dios borraria de la existencia civilizaciones enteras.

Y claro, como humanos pensariamos que con estos actos, Dios seria un ser de maldad, un ser que no aprecia su creacion y disfruta de verla sufrir.

Y e ahi el problema que me tiene pensando.

Nosotros a los insectos no esperamos que nos entiendan, a pesar de que las hemos estudiado y entendemos muy tecnicamente como funcionan sus sociedades, realmente jamas podriamos contactar con ellas porque simplemente no estamos en el mismo plano.

Y como digo, mi padre y yo no somos malas personas, solo nos guiamos con problemas de nuestro plano, que en este caso es: El pasto esta muy largo.

Y ahora mi pregunta es.

¿No es muy soberbio creer que podemos entender la forma de pensar de Dios?

Cientos de religiones han dicho y asegurado de que x Dios se mueve por ciertos deseos, pensamientos u emociones pero, asi como nosotros no sabemos que piensan las hormigas ¿crees que sepamos que piensa un Dios?

Y por eso el titulo de este articulo.

Sea el Dios cristiano o en el que tu creas, todos se basan en sentimientos humanos, odio, deseo, amor, etc.

Todos a imagen y semenjanza de lo que somos.

Un Dios muy humano.
