I’m watching the 2007 Halloween remake, and there’s a scene where two guards in the Sanatorium where Michael’s at, take a female resident into Michael’s room, and proceed to rape her. I immedately skipped the scene, and was just sitting there watching the next scene as the two got killed, thinking… why? Why was it necesarry to show that? The information that they’re absolutley horrible people that are predatory towards women is already shown in their behaviour before, when they take the girl out of her room and feel her up. Therefore, it’s not a huge step for me to believe that they would rape her. So why show that? Why show her suffering through something so horrid, and in such a (for me) graphic way?
There’s enough unecessary sexual violence towards women in the real world, (especially with the online rape academy recently), I don’t wanna see it on my screen as well.
