Eating seasonally is wonderful, and that's exactly what I want to talk about in this blog post today. Well, specifically, I want to share some classic summer meals you can make during this season if you're short on meal prep ideas.
I usually find these lists really helpful and fun too, there are so many things I want to cook! Anyway, let's get started!

BBQ
Barbecue is one of the most traditional summer meals, and having a classic barbecue isn't really complicated. It's usually made with meat and other side dishes like corn, onions, potatoes, etc, generally summer vegetables, however, you can also substitute the meat with fish or even more vegetables if you're vegan.
It's usually done with your partner, family, or friends, often at large gatherings, but also on ordinary days! It used to be eaten outdoors, in the garden, where it was also prepared, of course.
Men, or male people, were usually in charge of the barbecue, but really anyone could do it and participate; at the end of the day, it's all about cooking meat over a fire.

Ice cream
Ice cream is perhaps the most desired treat of summer. With the heat and its sweetness, everyone loves it.
Ice cream has always been a summer staple; you can buy it from stands or carts (or even at the supermarket), or you can make it at home.
If you're feeling adventurous, you can try making a banana split, a dessert that's becoming less popular these days but used to be very famous and is very tasty.

Peach pie
Peaches are a very sweet fruit that are widely used in baking, especially in summer because that's when they're harvested. Peaches have always been used in summer for a variety of desserts and other dishes, such as jam, peach rolls, juice, sauces, etc., but one of the most common uses used to be peach pie.
It's quick and easy to make, just be careful not to overheat yourself with the warmth of the oven!.

It's refreshing and filling; one good bowl of pasta salad can feed the whole family, which is why it has always been a classic summer meal, and it's also very easy to make.

Strawberry pretzel dessert
This is apparently a classic USA summer treat. I'm from Europe, so I don't know what to say, I've never tried it, but it's piqued my curiosity. It certainly looks delicious!
Maybe I'll give it a try someday.

Squash casserole
It makes sense, doesn't it? It's right there in the name of the vegetable, summer squash, so it's logical that it's so popular during the summer! It's true that it's usually harvested more in mid- to late summer, when the weather gradually starts to change and it's perfect for dishes like squash soup or casseroles.
Anyway, you can make this dish whenever you fancy it in the summer, it's always delicious! Plus, it's very easy to make.

Gazpacho
I admit I'm biased here; this dish from my home country, Spain, is almost the most popular during the summer because it's simply delicious. It's hard to imagine summer without it.
It's a cold vegetable soup that's easy and inexpensive to make, and you can have it in a bowl with a spoon or directly from a glass, as is traditionally done in southern Spain.
Give it a try!

Paella or fideuá
Ok ok, another spanish dish, I know! But I promise they are worth it!
Paella and fideuà are eaten in Spain year round, but especially in summer. It's a delicious dish with many variations, I encourage you to look them up.
By the way, if it's made with rice it's paella, if it's made with noodles (thick or thin) it's fideuà.

Creamy grape salad
A very sweet and refreshing retro salad.
In summer, salads are a big part of meals, although nowadays we associate the concept of salad with mixed vegetables on a plate (which are equally delicious, by the way). In the past, people used to get a bit more creative, making all kinds of salads. This one is among them.
