grilled cheese

not much on the ol noggin right now, so why not spit out something i've been really thinking about all day.

i keep wondering, "what's the best kind of way to make a grilled cheese sandwich?" then it hit me. there is no perfect way. this one thing is one of the most versatile 'things' out there. there really is no definitive way to make one of these guys. so, i started devising a list of different ways to make these things.

as i type this, i keep thinking about beverly hills chihuahua.

the classic way. white bread and american cheese. simple. nothing to it. not much, either. can be improved upon in many aspects.

now, add ham or turkey to the mix. hell, add both. this adds some serious spark. some savory and salty flavor to it. can't go wrong. still tastes a bit underwhelming, but, there is always room to change things up.

adding my favorite cheese; provalone. provalone cheese with honey ham or brown sugar ham is the way i like to go if i have a bit of extra cash to spare.

just thought about it... sourdough bread would make it even better. put it in the oven with the cheese and ham face up, and that's seriously good.

now, baloney isn't a bad choice either. it's salty and kinda heavy feeling, yes. but, it's your friend when you have nothing else to go around.

some cheese i would like to try on this would be swiss, munster, and monzarella. it all sounds like a triple cheese marvel. i don't like cheese very much, but it would be something different to try.

maybe chicken chunks would do good. maybe with a tortilla. no, that's just a quesadilla now.

the grilled cheese sandwich is diverse, but at its roots, you can't change it.
