The first day of summer was glorious in every way!
I went on a breakfast first date with a very sweet, attractive man named Dylan. We sat by the pond with ducks and geese, talking for like an hour!
After, I went to the movies with my friend, Sarah, to watch Levicitus. I snuck in my breakfast leftovers, so I was full on eating corned beef hash, an egg, and home fries in the theater... No shame!! The movie was great! Very endearing and thought provoking, just not as scary as I would have liked. I might do a separate post with my review on it.
We started heading to a vegan/vegetarian restaurant called Veggie Galaxy! On the way, we saw the stuffed sheep in the window of a furniture store we always pass by. Since we've been obsessed with this sheep for weeks, I said we should go inside and ask about it. I'm glad we did! We met this worker named Kat who was such an interesting character! They gave us a tour of the store and the huge room in the back where they literally were creating all of the pieces of furniture in-house: woodworking, upholstery, sewing, etc. It was insane!! We also got to see the huge slide where they transferred the furniture to the basement level. We had a great conversation about furniture, education, 21st century means of social interactions, life in Boston. Absolutely amazing, random experience!
We finally got to Veggie Galaxy! I had cheese fries and the faux clam chowder. Sarah had the fake pulled pork sandwich! While we were discussing the movie, I texted Dylan what I was up to... and turns out in that exact moment, he was two buildings down at a show!! I got to see him and his friend outside the venue and got to talk for like 30 minutes. The universe works in crazy ways since we were nowhere near either of our homes or the restaurant we ate at...
After all of this, I started heading back to my car where I saw 3 guys doing Razor scooter tricks with a 4th guy filming on a traditional camcorder! They were grinding on the church garden wall and sidewalk. I went up to say hi and told them the story about how I broke my arm on a scooter, was in a cast for 6 months, and then broke my arm scootering again immediately after. It was hoot and a half!
Wonderful start to the summer!!!
