self induced stupidity and the pursuit of happiness

Self induced stupidity is the only way to be happy,

Because there is no such thing as happiness, only contentment.

How many happy people are truly content? With their lives, their thoughts, their beliefs?

So much space in our brains, could they admit to being sincerely content with their use of it?

If you give a happy person a screwdriver for a loose bolt, they will clean their ears with it.

Happiness is instant and fleeting. To make its precense feel secure and constant, one needs to minimize the periods of time where it gets cut off. These frequent breaks between periods of happiness need to be made shorter and shorter, until our brain cannot recognize them anymore.

The illusion emerges that happiness is continuous and flowing.

Rather than waiting hours, days or weeks for this next flare of bliss, we wait a few seconds. Even a mere 5 minutes is too much of a fracture in the illusion. Happiness is excitement, stimulation, food, intimacy, intrigue, love, money, safety, physical comfort, noise, pollution, blindness, ignoranance and stupidity.

But the break will happen. No matter how sturdy the illusion, no matter how hard one holds onto it, reality is merciless. 10 minutes is enough to start feeling hopeless, one's reality is a void, completely naked of any form of true contentment.

Your own brain is foreign to you, you're not given any instructions on how to use it, where to divert the attention to, which parts of it to stimulate. You have made nothing of the space but junk and garbage. You no longer speak the same language as your body. Your shield of stupidity backstabs you. You don't know how to navigate your thoughts without direction.

Where are the loud, blinking signs?

Where is the noise, where is the pollution, how will you escape your eyesight that is now painfully clear? How do you become blind again with no tools, with no flashing light, with no smoke in your eyes?

How can one embrace being stupid when it no longer does anything to protect you from misery?

The neglect of the brain bites everybody in the ass.

Pursuing stupidity that rewards you in the present will stray you further away from reality.

You have already pursued stupidity, and you will continue to chase the high of being "happy", each time hoping for a different result.

You are becoming insane.

yes! avoidance (or what you called self induced stupidity) begins when the center creates distance between what is and what should be. nothing is missing. the gap is thought. could happiness then be no stimulation at all, but the silence left when the gap collapses?
what do you think?

I think very similarly to that. To me true 'happiness' is exactly that silence when the gap collapses. since I describe happiness as fleeting and temporary i try to emphasize that we shouldn't chase being happy, but should work towards contentment. I see contentment as comfort and satisfaction with the way one is that doesn't require any physical stimuli. So basically it is the permanent version of happiness to me. that way when all of this stimuli disappears, one is comfortable being in the space of their own brain. If you are content with your mind, then you can exist in nothingness and be happier than anyone without relying on anything since your natural brain activity will stay with you until you die. People who heavily rely on physical stimulation to be happy don't have the same control and comfort within their thoughts if that makes sense, hence the feeling that your own brain is foreign to you. but yes I basically think that this silence is the closest state to achieving to true happiness

i've tried to read the post - and maybe it's just me - but i can't seem to find the point you're trying to make, or if you are trying to make a point at all. are we supposed to give up hope or something? should we all just stop living??

no, you're not supposed to be hopeless. you're supposed to fight the hopelessness to pursue contentment.

Happiness is fleeting and it always will be. If you have a significant other, they will one day die. If you are eating a chocolate bar, it is bound to soon run out. Instead of chasing fleeting happiness, stay aware.

Don't chase instant gratification and pursue happiness without breaks, constantly stimulating ur brain and calling it 'joy'. Don't become braindead and only rely on constant stimuli to the point where 10 minutes without it makes you feel empty. Don't neglect your brain, stay thinking and that way you will always be content.

Utilize the space in your brain for your ideas and thoughts, don't let constant external stimuli kill them.

tldr, instead of blindly pursuing what feels good now, think about the bigger picture and what you would have to do to be content with your life and yourself as a person
