Backrooms movie

just watched the backrooms movie with my sister and the amount of people who don't like psychological horror just because they cant wrap their mind around it is so funny to me. like so many people went into this movie expecting to see their favorite level to show up, completley forgetting what the backrooms was to begin with.

like ofc it wasnt gonna be "if you see a smiling creature turn left and drink almond water at exactly 3 AM", that came much later when internet lore and games expanded the concept into like a horror rpg. the original idea was basically "why does this place feel so familiar?" the uncertainty and not having a logical explanation for it is what makes it scary. people need to get over the fact that sometimes the point of a horror movie is that there is no point. as much as i love partygoer and partypooper, I do not care that Level 638271947 or whatever wasn't in the movie. your expectations were too high

All those entities and levels n stuff isn't the first thing 90% of people who have heard of the backrooms think when its brought up anyways. The only thing that's absolutely required for it is clipping out of bounds, ending up into an endless urine colored vaguely office looking space and a creature following you or at least the felt presence of one (the last thing is part of the original 4chan post btw) So i don't know why people expect minus word or mr.glorbo-kaboople to show up.
I haven't seen the movie so take this with a grain of salt; I feel having the backrooms desperately making distorted and messed up things and people that seem familiar almost like a continuation of what it was originally about is a breath of fresh air.
