The reason why im making this blog is to educate others and shit talk this one guy ik. After doing research of punk and alternative culture and community, I realized that today it is common to find others, especially younger generations, that dont necessarily know what it really means to be 'alternative'. I will admit, I didnt know much until recently. A lot of ppl nowadays just associate it with clothing and actions but not the actual ideology that goes behind it. And, yes, clothing and actions are/can be apart of being 'alternative' but what im saying is that most ppl think "If i dress a certain way and just say fuck the system then I am alternative", specifically calling out ppl that just dress a certain way and do nothing else. I also want to make it clear Im not hating on the way anybody dress, just be yourself, im just trying to encourage ppl to do research and deep dive into the ideaology of being 'alternative'

so after doing research on the punk community and some research in what 'alternative' really means, it made me think of this one guy in my class. I wont say his name so if you see any 'he' or 'him', I am talking abt the one guy in my class.

First, the 'alt' he thinks he attitude, these are all events that I've seen him do:

• he does listen to 'alt' music, mostly blink-182 and bands like them (Ill give him that, good for him👏)
• he once asked on the class GC "guys should I get liberty spikes?", thinking this makes him 'different' and 'stand out' just because he will dress outside of social norms
• He also constantly tells me to Blink-182 
• He thinks that Scott Pilgrim Takes Off(2023) is enough to watch to consider himself 'alt'
• Pretty sure he thinks me and one of my friends are 'alt' so he tries to get close to use(I wouldn't consider myself hardcore 'alt' and I dont think my friend would consider herself 'alt' at all)
• He thinks its 'tuff' to tell teachers theyre in the wrong or some shit when he was literally interrupting class and annoying everybody, which gives him the mindset that hes 'different'
• Calls out teachers for being "sexist"(Spoilers: hes a hypocrite)

Some of this stuff Ill need to go more into detail btw

So second, the way we actually acts, again, these are events that I've seen him do:

• Yes he does listen to 'alt' music but I swear that is what started making him have this ego
• He does the littlest things to seem 'alt' as: he onced asked our japanese teacher if she listens to certain 'alt' bands when its obvious he is attention seeking; me and my friends even his own friends were getting sick of it bc of how many times he would repeat the same questions( not even related to Japanese class like bro come out your not fooling anybody😭)
• He would constantly say that he is 'niche' 
• He would tell me that he 'knows' some of the other teachers are sexist just because they are strict with him, BUT the teachers have to be strict with him bc of the way he disrespects everybody
• He thinks it makes him 'cool' and 'different' to talk back to teachers when they are just doing their job
• He's homo/transphobic and sexist yet he gaslights himself that he's in the right all the time
• He has said it openly that he is homophobic because he is christian(Im NOT hating on religion, im religious myself, what my claim is: when you say you dislike a certain community of ppl then proceed to say it is because of a religion, a religion that most ppl consider and is supposed to be loving one and other, it is a bad look for yourself and very hypocritical)
• He has called out other boys of being creepy and sexist towards other boys in our grade, even helping me once(but thats a whole other story), and yet he proceeds to do the same thing: He treated his ex-gf terribly, he never listened to her, he led her on for years, he was always fighting with her and even his own friends would call him out for this
• After this, he tried rebounding my friend(the same friend that he thinks is 'alt') and my friend showed me these text bc she felt creeped out, these text would be: him making 'mommy' jokes, saying hes into p3dophilia and wanting an older gf, also sending pic of random girls he would get on his fyp and sexualizing them also saying "yo should I shoot my shot", he sent pictures of lingerie that he wants to wear(btw multiple of our other friends believe he was trying to rebound her)
• My friend would constantly try to send him hints to not text her abt this stuff using dry text backs or saying to talk abt this stuff to your actual friends bc she would never consider them friends, and she would leave him on read multiple times but then he guilt trips her into responding back
• During this he would also vent and tell me how he misses his ex-gf and cry at night thinking abt her and tell the same stuff to my friend, while trying to rebound her still
• He says the 'N' word out loud, and I mean out loud: he mostly says this infront of our japanese teacher bc english is her second language. He even called his ex-gf this slur muliple times

This is all the things I can say and remember but most likely there is more to this that I dont know of bc we arent that close: He only started really talking to me this year(so this is all drama from this year alone btw), I wasnt close with his ex-gf so I dont have all the details of their relationship, and I only have my story and my friends story to tell ygs.

The reason why I talked abt this one classmate was to give an example of what makes some not alternative even if they think so. But again, the main reason I made this was to encourage others to do research into alternative ideas, not hating on anyone but this one guy. And this goes to not just alternative culture but to just get thorough education into really anything. It would prevent you or others giving the wrong ideas or offending/hurting certain communities and it won't make you look stupid. And it can be hard to miss these points bc its not as common as it was before when the 'foundation' was first made.

BUT just bc you know more info than others, dont be a dick abt it. Yes, posers can be poorly educated at some times and are attention seeking but there are also actual ppl still wanting to learn more abt a subject who want help and info from others, this doesnt make them a poser.
