I truly love a good 3D render & while they still exist, I'm speaking on the classic Bryce standard of 3D renders. Don't get me wrong the modern day renders as well as some artists that still do classic styled renders are out there and do great work. It seemed somewhat of a lost form of art, now with the rise of nostalgia and realization of "older was better" mantra in our modern day society, not to say there isn't any truth to that I mean I'm on here for my social platform of choice. None the less we are now entering a slight comeback nothing crazy yet we have things like The Amazing Digital Circus at the forefront, which I absolutely love and should go watch in theaters. I only want to bring this up on the account of love I have for 3D renders and the realization I came to within the past couple of years. As I'm sure most people are currently experiencing, we are in a social toxic space in the modern day with a lot of spaces data breaching, the current social experience is nothing but performative and high expectations as well as the economy is in ruins right now so there's a massive wave of reversion to older generation ways of life and experiences. I was fortunately as well as unfortunately born in 1998 as part of the few and rare years that is a mixture of Millennial and Gen Z to which we got to experience the ways of being patient and enjoying what you have as well as the growing and normalization use of technology. With that being said it explains why a lot of times I tend to go back and forth with things, for example some days I love goin out on nature walks and missing the meeting people just naturally outside without the social stress of being performative or being pushed away because we never met in person before since we're in a mostly online social space environment these days, and on the other days I love my comfortless of gaming online with friends or ease of watching movies with friends on a discord call, in some form of fairness the friends I have in person that live near me I always hang out in person with them, We've done walks together played games in person and many other things. With all that being said it came to my realization a few years ago that I wasn't enjoying everything I was doing, bed rotting, doom scrolling, not enjoying the small things or even my hobbies sometimes. Hell I only started doing nature walks and working on myself last year. The reason I mention all this is that within the last year I came to focus and recollect on the things I love, hobbies and such, I did some deep digging and went back to the roots that made me, hell I was drained from even wanting to try filmmaking anymore because I would question if it was worth it, if I was good enough and comparing to the online standards of everyone on the planet, and I love filmmaking its my passion and it's my dream. To circle everything back the point I'm making is creativity and passion is being drained and so while digging upon myself one thing I remembered I always loved was films (no surprise there), but not just films but older media in general I started remembering older games that felt lost, old shows, VHS' and I eventually stumbled upon something I forgotten that felt like magic. 3D Renders and CGI of course it was mostly forgotten due to only programmers or companies like Pixar reimagining things, as well as it was deemed atrocious by the general public and as time went by older looked uglier due to new tech. As I was rediscovering this A simple video made me rekindle this magic feeling I felt for it. Here is said video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyGfxCxnZW0 and contrary to the title while it wasn't perfect back then it was all amazing to me and that's no hate to this content creator he actually speaks in the video his appreciation for the things each one accomplished. But seeing each reminded me of how much I missed this style and not for the nostalgia factor, sure it plays in a little, but to me each time I watch or look at any of these I see a whole mysterious and magical-like world, like there's a whole story to explore in this space, It has this sense of something more like I could travel there and experience so many things. Its almost like the idea of liminal space but in a different concept. As I show you some of my favorite art pieces here, to me I can see so many things behind each pixel, it sometime even feels blissful. As I continued through this rabbit hole so to speak I remembered growing up seeing some of these things or like for an example watching an old CGI ad and special it felt now coming back to me in the modern day, and you can't just simply replicate that when looking at modern standards which makes me appreciate more when content that replicates old styles put in with the same love and care it used to have. I also remembered how much ridicule I used to see or hear growing up when a now old show or movie or piece of media was talked so badly of its CGI or 3D Renders and I remembered I enjoyed it above those few haters I experienced. This also explains why it doesn't correlate in a modern sense, unless it blows up in popularity or is being used for performative use it continues to remain buried and lost. Of course we'll also have a few peeps who loved it as much as we did and put that classic love and care into it and bring something new and thank you for keeping any lost form of art or media alive to keep that what was once lost magic back in the lives that mattered for them.
