REVIEW: Mario Kart: Double Dash!! (GameCube, 2003)

Mario Kart: Double Dash!! is a truly unique, innovative, and impressive game. Why? Because Nintendo never brought back that still-cool formula where two characters share a single kart, and each character has their own special item in subsequent installments. The controls are very different and can feel quite strange and slippery, so to speak, compared to other Mario Kart games, but you gradually get used to them as you play. So get ready to drift most of the time, since some—if not all—of the tracks are designed for that technique. And if you’re one of those people who loves it, let me tell you: this game is for you.

My only complaint is the difficulty—it can be very challenging and frustrating to finish the entire game because of how CHAOTIC it is. But despite that, Mario Kart: Double Dash!! isn’t as bad as people say it is; for me, it’s a great game—once again unique, innovative, and impressive.
