Finally getting a tattoo!!!

just wanted to ramble about how excited i am about finally getting my first tattoo!!

haven't gotten it yet, really, but i have my consultation scheduled for early this week at this really really cool shop near my place. we're gonna work on the design together, but it's going to be a three of swords peice from a tarot deck. three swords piercing a heart. i dont fully understand all the styles by name, but it'll be black and gray work and woodcut/engraving (?) styled. not sure how else to explain it 

the three of swords card when reversed (as it's going to be from my eyesight when its on me) signifies recovery, forgiveness, and letting go of the past. the beginnings of healing and choosing not to carry unwanted grief and hurt into the future. 

i'm so excited for the appointment. hopefully i'll finally have my first (of many to come) by the end of the month!
