How not to be awkward?

HOW, HOW people it´s not awkward, I have been trying no to be akward when meeting new people but i leeo thinking i make everything uncomfortable and weird; I do not want to sound dramatic or something like that, but I genuinely feel like a creep even if i am not one. So, how can i be less awkward? Nobody have answer me that question yet.
