20 years ago, The Church of Satan held a black mass commemorating 40 years of their organization. On that same day, I went to the Hollywood Theater at the now defunct Washington Crowne Center Mall and saw The Omen remake. I remember when I went to see this on June 6th, 2006. The mid 2000's, in hindsight, was a really good time for pop culture. This movie, although an almost exact scene for scene remake, seemed to have been made primarily in response to Bush era politics and religious fanaticism. \ And that same day that I was watching the remake of The Omen, this was going on. 20 years later, maybe we should call June 6th Church of Satan Day.
