Recreational drugs are lame.

No, I'm not your parents whose only argument against drugs is a religious one. I don't think weed literally rots your brain. I'm actually pro-legalization. But I think it's still a stupid thing to do. There's literally no benefit to recreational drug use aside from "It makes me feel good," which, even then, is a stupid argument because all it does is show how you refuse to self-improve and would rather opt for a temporary disabling of your self-hatred.

Let me explain.

Recreational drug use (along with alcohol) is kind of a short-cut to feeling good. Consider the fact that people who work out or are productive feel good. There's a certain pleasure you can get only from success, or being "high on life." Our bodies have a system built into them made specifically for making you feel good when you do good stuff, when you are productive. Drugs are kind of a sabotage of that system, trying to make you feel good without doing anything productive. Which is why people who smoke weed tend to be unproductive people who either contribute nothing to society or the bare minimum so they can be a financial neutral on society. Ask most potheads, and it'll be clear that they're either a NEET, in school, or working a shitty job that provides just enough to support themselves. People who are successful or productive have no need for drugs because our bodies create good feelings when we're productive. The problem with recreational drug users is that being productive is too hard for them, so they'd rather take the short-cut. Thus, drugs create a class of lazy people.

Now you might be asking, "Tuesday, how can you hate recreational drugs so much and still think they should be legal?" Well, I'm a classical liberal. Long story short, as long as you're not hurting anyone else directly, most things should be legally. For example, everybody knows that cigarettes are bad, and there's no benefit to being a smoker aside from "it makes me relax," but smoking is still legal. Why? Because it really doesn't affect anyone aside from the user.

Now, you could make the argument of second-hand smoke, but that can be attributed to a lot of things. For example, if you were to destroy your car, you could. It's your car, go for it. But if you were to do that in the middle of an active, busy road... well, then there's a problem.

Please give me your thoughts on what you think about this. Recreational drug users and drinkers, tell me why you started, and if you genuinely think you're a productive human being who's a real positive to human society.

P.S. I'm not trying to be all high and mighty. I'm the perfect demographic for drug use. The difference between me and other college students without a job and still living with their parents is that I try to improve myself.
