Im so happy, today I got my film exam results back after thinking id failed.. I got 102/120. One mark away from an A*.
I'm a tiny bit disappointed I was a mark away, but an A is still amazing. For a breakdown, The exam contained 3 essay questions. Question one the global section and was about gender in Pan's Labyrinth (2006) and Parasite (2019). I got 32/40.
Question 2 was American film, about spectatorship in Get Out (2017) and La La Land (2016), this is the question im most unfamiliar with as I was struggling mentally while studying La La Land, so I assumed I was going to fail on that factor alone, but I got 33/40!!
And Finally, my question 3 British film section was about cinematography, Mise-en-scene and performance, the studied films were Trainspotting (1996) and Shaun of the Dead (2004). This is the first set of films I ever studied in class, and I struggled with Trainspotting for a long while as I felt I had so much to say but not enough time to write a fully fledged essay, however, I scored 37/40, which is a major improvement considering my last British film essay I got 18/40 as I needed to improve my use of film terminology.
I'm so happy with my results and I adore my film class!! <3
